Veterinarian
Nikolai Kolupaev, born and raised in Carson City, Nevada, knew from the time he was eight years old that he wanted to be a veterinarian. He began working as a kennel attendant while attending the University of Nevada, Reno, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2014. Nikolai and his wife, Shannon, moved across the country to Virginia in the fall of 2014, where he attended Virginia Tech and ultimately graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Nikolai and Shannon have since lived in Alabama, Idaho, and Nevada, pursuing advanced education and various professional opportunities – and, of course, accumulated multiple pets along the way!
In the summer of 2023, Nikolai, Shannon, and their crew of animals finally accomplished a lifelong goal of moving to Montana and settling in Livingston. Beyond his professional life, you are most likely to find Nikolai in the great outdoors – whether on the back of a horse, hiking, skiing, or dirt biking. Nikolai is also passionate about photography and carries his camera pretty much everywhere he goes to be ready to capture wildlife/nature scenes, portraiture, and event photography. Nikolai is excited to be a part of the Sleeping Giant family and looks forward to serving the community of Livingston for many years to come.
